Cool Nail Designs Short Nails

Cool Nail Designs Short NailsCool Nail Designs Short Nails - I made an appointment here for 5 gals including myself for a bachelorette party on a Saturday. We each got mani/pedis and they were very accommodating. We were a little late, but they still managed to seat us all together. Van worked on my pedi & Kelly worked on my gel mani. They were both so nice and did a great job. I was wary about cutting my cuticles so I made sure that they were aware. They were understanding and careful. They were also both extremely appreciative that I chose SUN for our party and I was as well. I mean, look at all the great reviews! My nails still look good and it's been a week. I'm very happy and would definitely recommend this place for a party or just to get in some R&R!

They have a large selection of polishes. The facility, bathroom and spa chairs were clean. Parking was a little tricky, but we were able to find metered parking after driving around for a few minutes. Make sure you take advantage of that pay for parking by phone/online! Very clean nail shop which I totally like. I have been here a couple times for a mani but today decided on a mani pedi. The staff is always friendly and did a really good job. They have plenty of colors to choose from and offer a variety of beverages while your gel dolled up. Simply Unique Nails does NOT actually sterilize their instruments in an autoclave. The put used instruments in the plastic autoclave pouches and pass them off as clean. Check the pouch for yourself, there is a pink/blue color that turns to brown/black if the autoclave was effective, their instruments have not been cleaned.

The manager tried to tell me the department of health prefers they use the disinfecting solution (instruments need to soak for a minimum 45 minutes) instead the autoclave (takes less than 20 minutes to do a better job than the solution). Doubt this is true. This still doesn't explain why they use the pouches that make their clients think instruments were cleaned in an autoclave. Simply Unique Nails has dirty instruments they are passing off as sterile, hoping their clients have not contracted fungal infections, bacterial infection or hepatitis because of their deceit.

Nail Art for Short Nails

Nail Art for Short NailsNail Art for Short Nails - This is my favorite place to get my manicure/pedicure. They always do a quality job and they have the magical nail gel that makes my manicure last for weeks without chipping or peeling. The place is clean, affordable, and they really go the extra mile to take of you and make you feel comfortable. Its a great place to just go by yourself or go with your girlfriends. My wedding party came here the day before my wedding and we had so much fun! I've been to several different nail salons and this one is the best, hands down. I've been back a dozen times since my initial review, and this has become my favourite mani/pedi place anew.

Outstanding magazine selection (seriously, no need to ever buy a fashion/gossip/beauty mag again - they have all the latest issues), great complimentary beverages, baller massage chairs and a slick selection of nail polish colours from my favourite brands. Any time I need to catch up on the pop culture world I head straight to S.U.N. to be whisked away into an hour (or two) of bliss and relaxation. Quyen (pronounced like Quinn) was fantastic! I wanted a relatively unusual design for my manicure, and received exactly what I wanted! I showed her a few pictures for reference and she worked her magic and created a masterpiece on my nails. She is very taleneted and I would recommend her for very detailed designs. Again, make sure you book exactly what you want in advance, it is very difficult to change your services the day of. Also, tips are cash only!

Nice Nail Art Designs Short Nails

Nice Nail Art Designs Short NailsNice Nail Art Designs Short Nails - I discovered Great Nails probably about two years ago and I was selfishly keeping it to myself (and a few select friends) because it was TOO AWESOME to share with the whole wide world. But, in all reality, I don't go nearly as much as I'd like to..and they deserve all the business they can get!!

I had a similar experience to someone else who wrote a review-- they agreed to take my friend and I in at closing time (7:30)-- and we were there until 10:00pm, as they gave our feet the most fantastic rubdown imaginable!! And for $25?? Unreal.

The downside (if you could call it that) is: if you go during a busy time, prepare to wait, because they don't rush through anyone's pedi. But the upside of that is, they certainly won't rush through yours either, even if the line's out the door or they are technically closed!

Matt and Lee are my favorites-- they are so amazing!! I feel like they must have studied acupuncture, but they claim they haven't. Sometimes there are big gaps between when I go but, regardless, they always greet me with a hug and remember my name. I love them!!! I hope they keep the prices low so I can keep tipping them BIG because they deserve it.

And it's BYOB, yes. Which makes things get a little loud in there on Fridays after office hours... it's the most unexpected happy hour deal in town! :) My acrylic nails were wavy meaning the surface was rippled. The so called good leg rub was more like calf-muscle punching.

To me a good pedicure focuses on calluses...which left me desiring more. I don't know why this place gets such great reviews I wasn't impressed. But I got what I paid for.

Fantastic Short Nail Designs Easy

Fantastic Short Nail Designs EasyFantastic Short Nail Designs Easy - Bonniherself's review got this spot on. I have had this in my stash for a year but have not used until now. I bought it because it looked exciting in the bottle. I now know that there have been a couple of versions. I have the latest version and it is just a boring dull dark brown/grey on the nails, the colour in the bottle is not replicated on nails. Applied well, one coat only and fully opaque. Very smooth to put on. It looks very shiny particularly with a Seche Vite topping. I cannot comment on its durability. I put this on last night and I will be taking it off tonight. I like to look at my nails and get a little thrill (sad I know) but this kind of depresses me. I am a fan of dark polishes ( well all polishes really, I am kind of addicted....,) but this one leaves me cold.

First, I knew they'd changed the formula, and that the polish I was buying was not the original holographic glitter version, which I'm told is gorgeous. I still liked the look of the polish, though, as I like brown polishes and I like glitter/shimmer. In the bottle, this looks like a rich, warm, dark brown with warm shimmer, exactly the sort of thing I enjoy wearing. On the nails, though, it's a different story.

The colour is pretty muddy, a dark grey-brown. If it was one or the other, it would be better, but it's just this muddy in between colour. Bleah. The glitter is well-suspended and definitely present, but it's barely there, and more of a subtle shimmer than anything else. The shimmery particles are very, very fine, and appear to be... gold? Silver? I don't know, maybe they're actually prismatic? All of the above? Impossible to tell, unfortunately, no matter what light I use. Top coat improves the appearance of the glitter somewhat, but only a little.

The formula on this is really nice, I must say, and it's easy to work with. Also easy to remove, no glitter hassles. I don't hate this polish, and I think it will work for certain things (as an accent nail in certain manicures, or as a base colour for certain special effects top coats, for example), but it's definitely not something I love or would wear just for its own sake. It looks SO much prettier in the bottle than it does on my nails. I hate it when nail polishes trick you like that.

Awe-Inspiring Short Nail Design 2013

Awe-Inspiring Short Nail Design 2013Awe-Inspiring Short Nail Design 2013 - I had a manicure on the 20th and my manicurist used Negligee on my short, natural nails. This is absolutely lovely. Not Liquid Paper, artificial white, Not streaky. Not too frosty. A barely there opalescence that reminds me of Abalone. Subtle. Elegant. My nails looked beautiful so I HAD to buy it. I took it with me on a recent holiday and retouched it on the Sat after. I'm still wearing it. Even when it chips a bit its barely noticeable. $7 at Gene Juarez Salon and Spa.

I just have short natural nails now. There are a couple of people on here who have enhancements, hopefully they will chime in on your thread. I do know you should be aware of Methyl-Methacrylate (MMA) being used predominantly in cheaper salons(NSS: Non-Standard Salons); it's not FDA-approved and is illegal in most states to use as a nail product but it's widespread because it costs 90% less than the safer alternative ethyl-methacrylate (EMA).

I read that you will know MMA by it's unique and very strong odor (sharp and fruity), if nail technicians wear masks to protect themselves from the dangerous vapors, nail technicians using MMA will nearly always use a nail drill because MMA acrylic is too hard to file with a hand file, removing MMA acrylics is very difficult, requiring from 40-60 minutes of soaking in pure acetone to dissolve the nails, and salons using it can charge much less for their services. I have read guidelines to be cautious of any salon charging less than $30 for a full set, or less than $20 for a fill.

Another scam by NSS salons is to offer UV Gel nails at a higher price, while claiming that they are safer. BUT they will again, apply the same substandard acrylic, and no gel is used. Only a UV sealant to prevent the cheap acrylic from yellowing. Powder is NEVER ever used for UV Gel nails, so if they take a powder out, it's not gels--they are applying standard liquid and powder acrylics and charging you a higher price. There are also scams with "Solar Nails." If the bottle doesn't say it's Solar and from Creative Nail Design, then they are not really giving you "Solar Nails" but likely MMA pink & whites. Walk away.
